Heart Broken

We used to talk like
Best friends should
But now I feel
Invisible to you

We used to hold
Each other’s hand
And everything I said
You’d understand

But now this love
Feels so untrue
When the lies you held
Unraveled from you

The words you said
That very day
Was a terrible lie
In many ways

You said those words,
“I love you.”
But those words you said
Were very untrue

While at the time
You said that to me
You were thinking ‘bout the girl
You couldn’t wait to see

How could you hurt me?
And make me cry
You made me feel
Like I should go and die

But now I know
You were destined to be
In love with her
And not with me

And it’ll take me awhile
For me to see
That the happiness you seek
Was not with me
