When you told me it was forever
What exactly did you mean
I know it's not what I thought
If only you should have seen

You and me together
Seemed perfect from the start
I never expected
That you would break my heart

As you put your arms around me
And said "you know that I love you"
I thought that you really did
But I guess it wasn't true

I just can't believe you'd hurt someone
The way that you hurt me
But now that I'm over you
I realize we weren’t meant to be

You can never trust forever
Because forever ends too soon
So when a guy says I Love You
Wait before you jump over the moon

Make sure that he is true
Because with guys you never know
Forever means something different to them
Always ready to let you go

When your forever ends
What do you have left
When he steals all that you have
Can you really call it a theft

Nothing to fall back on
No one can comfort your pain
Forever digs into your soul
And leaves a permanent stain

Forever doesn't mean forever
It's just a simple word
Yet behind lies hopes and dreams
That more often are preferred

Can you honestly say
Your love will forever last
Forever is a long time
That doesn't go by fast
