My Stolen Soul

Why does this always happen
Last week was the last time
I had yet another nightmare
Is sleeping really such a crime

This one was different though
I stared death in the face
I didn't even try to run
As is so often the case

They came from the sky
First a silhouette on the moon
I stood frozen in the darkness
As if this time I was immune

As I watched their approach
I felt overwhelming dread
As they began their descent
the darkness seemed to spread

Like waves from the ocean
They strike with pure hate
They want me to conform
All other options are too late

As I start to sink to the ground
I'm now watching from above
As my body is quickly liquefied
A creature of evil, I am now one of

But what will happen to my soul
Now that all hope has been stolen
I regret the undeniable truth
Into hell I have just fallen

Cold and sweating is how I awake
I realize it was just another dream
But why are they so constant
Why always the same theme
