How It Feels To Die

by Alaleighea   Mar 14, 2005

I held my breath as you said goodbye
And i heard the dial tone
My eyes stung burning hot as i whispered your name
Forgetting to hang up the phone
My cheeks were burning wet with tears
When i crumpled to the floor
I couldn't speak i couldn't breath
I couldn't live anymore
For all those days you'd been my life
I lived each day for you
Now sitting here with a tear-stained face
I couldn't believe this was true
In the past you'd broke my heart
But i left our love to fate
But today on the phone you made it clear
I forgave you a little too late
So sitting here with a shattered soul
I asked the emptiness why
And when it replied i understood
I know how it feels to die
