Stroke her hair and stare into the fire while she sleeps
Kiss her in the rain while holding hands tenderly

Walk beside her on a snowy winter’s day
Share a summer’s midnight reflection against a lake

Laugh and love with her family and mine
Making memories to last our happy lifetimes

Fall asleep together in front of the fire
Only to wake up and see her look back at me

Be her inspiration when I’m not near
Match her stride underneath the starlit sky

Holding her close when she needs to cry
Watch the tears, be born in her eyes

Tell her “everything’s going to be alright”
As I watch how on her lips, the tears die.

Then stay with her all through the night listening to her breathe
Watching her cry in the morning when she says goodbye to me…
