My grieving path
Where I can go
To relieve wrath

I know that I
Am welcome there
Where friends help carry
The load I bear

I set it down
To rest a while
And now, finally
I can smile

I don’t know why,
The reason’s unclear
Why I no longer
Must live in fear

But it is true
That now I feel
That things unhealthy

Above it all
And nothing, now

Or was if fate?
Am I important?
Or destiny’s date?

Why is it me
Whose pain is gone
And not a child
Of unbroken dawn?

To someone who needs it
More than I do
Why wasn’t it awarded
To you, you, or you?

To some needy boy
Or girl with a use
For the gift I’ve gotten
Please, what’s your excuse?

You sit in silence
Unwilling to tell me
Why you’ve given gifts
Oh, so freely

I don’t understand
Why you don’t respond
To questions so many
They could fill a pond

A pond of words
Phrases hugging hate
And coddling poisons
Whose cures arrive late

You swim in this lake
And hear my words pleading
To save, instead
Those still bleeding

I, gladly, would die
To save another soul
To mend and fill
A blade scraped hole

I don’t need healing
I’m fine on my won
I’d rather help those
That are lost and alone
