Black and White World

by cac123   Mar 15, 2005

We live in a black and white world,
with standardized lines to show,
guarded gates and locked up secrets,
that no one should ever know,

Look behind the allies,
the dark corners forbid,
that is where our truth lies,
the secret of our sin,

Look past the fake smiles,
and you will see the greed,
seeping from their lips comes lies,
and everything you can conceive,

No longer is life beautiful,
nothing precious to hold,
Everything is the same,
our once warm world has gone cold,

Selfish hunger is a disease,
looking out for number 1,
compassion for others is now lost,
after the battles were won,

New technology brings in,
the wealth we are at our peak,
but still no one stands out,
or tries to be unique,

Do you think anyone really cares
about anyone but themselves?
there is no longer a difference,
between our world and hell,

This is our America my friends,
yes, the secrets out,
and it will never change, till time mends,
no matter how loud you shout.

At certain places it didn't flow so well but i loved the way it ended and seeing i don't live in America it's not my place to comment on that or judge but it still was very interesting.
