The Cold Little Girl

by *~broken~hearted~*   Mar 15, 2005

Falling through the cold,
Hearing the sounds of screaming nights,
Seeing time change to dust.
I feel you there.
You seem so real.
Like the little girl in an empty park,
Running around with glee.
I saw her there alone.
I called to her to see if she was lost.
So she came to me and said,
"Why did you have to hurt me?"
Confused, i watched her run away to the woods.
I chased after her,
But shes gone with the night.
Now it seems I am floating,
Spinning through time.
Awaiting my next visit
With the cold little girl.
The little girl who i never knew,
Though i always will.
She runs and plays in the wind,
And sometimes you can hear her,
If you listen real close,
Laughing and playing in the park.
And sometimes you can even see her.
But don't be fooled,
For she is not real.
And if you speak to her,
She will come to you.
And she will say,
"Why did you have to hurt me?"
Then she will run from you
In horror and delight.
But she will never leave.
And so maybe we will meet.
And float through time together.
Awaiting the cold little girl
To find us again.
