Behind the Eyes of Innocence

by EpithetPoet   Mar 15, 2005

Every night he'd come to me
A vision innocent and pure
Bringing me the presentiment
Of everything i'd cure

All the disease
That plagues each life
Wasting away
In misery and strife

All the hate
From one to the next
Leaving our children
Permanently vexed

All the poverty
Behind a hungry face
Leaving conditions
Of shame and disgrace

Behind the eyes
Of an 8 year old girl
Are the ambitions
To cure this world

Sweeeet!!!!! So true though. Kids are our future and some crack pot old fool looking for a paycheck isn't going to find anything imporant other than what he's obligated to find. That's how I feel. It will take someone who's been touched by the after effects of a death of someone close to do the job. Maybe it will be, maybe it won't, either way, the cure will hopefully be found one day. Sorry if I strayed off topic. The poem was magnificently stunning. lol. I really, really liked it!!! Great job hun!!

    Lots of love,
