It's Been A Long Time

It’s been a long time, my friend
Many things have come to an end
Since we last met
Many things I will never forget.

Things were stolen from me
I look at you, everything I could be
You’re every dream come true
Everything I wanted is in you.

I would lay down tired each day
Trying to wish my pain away
While you sunned your smile and heart
My whole world was falling apart.

But I’m glad you’re happy, I am
You offer to help me, if you can …
But I’m sorry, things have changed since we spoke last
See, you’re just a future shadow of my past.

And we can’t see each other any more.
