My Promise

I hurt so much
But as long as you’re near
I won’t do anything
To hurt you my dear

I swear to you, my love
I won’t do something we’ll regret
But the scar on my wrist
I’ll never forget

For when my wrist was bleeding
I was thinking of you only
About if I killed myself right then
I’d be leaving you lonely

I can’t do that to you
I’m sorry that I tried
I’ll keep my promise in mind
When I try to push it all aside

But this is my pledge to you
The one I’ll never break
I’ll never again cut myself
For both of our sake
