Afterlife

by Lost but Smiling   Mar 16, 2005

You and me,
We used to be one in the same,
yet somehow though
we've drifted so far away
You keep torturing me with this off and on game
You try and defend yourself
You try and protect your feelings
All at the expense of mine

But now, I'm in the Afterlife,
And I'll eventually forget.
As time still moves
Even in the Afterlife
I know I will forget you.

I promised that I'd always be there
I have stuck to that.
You promised me
That if i ever needed a shoulder to cry on,
I could cry on yours
(If i could reach it,
You are so tall)
Well, where are you now?
You have become the hypocrite
You let down a friend,
just as you complained about those who let you down.
You lied to me,
and kept secrets from me
What type of friend are you?

But now, I'm in the Afterlife,
And I'll eventually forget
As time still moves
Even in the Afterlife,
I will forget about you.

I'm sick of waiting,
For you to hear me out.
If you want to understand,
this pain i feel,
come find me.
You broke my trust.
You should know never to do that.
If you want to regain it,
Come find me,
and hear me talk.

Because, I'm in the Afterlife
And I'll eventually forget
As time still moves
Even in the Afterlife,
I finally forgot about you.

~I wrote this when a good friend of mine and i got in a huge fight. Things have gotten better a little bit, but we're still not to where we were. It's a shitty poem, but i wrote it at like 2 a.m. when i couldn't sleep.~
