Step Into My Life

* This poem isn’t about me, but it relates to a lot of people*

You think you got it bad, don’t you?
That everything is lost and your life is through

Cuz you got into a fight with mommy
And daddy didn’t give you enough money

Cuz that guy you got a crush on won’t look your way
Cuz when you get called on in class, you don’t know what to say

You think cuz you gained a few pounds around your thighs
That those are reasons to want to die?

You pull out a gun and aim it to your head
Wanting to see the look on their faces when they see the note on your bed.

“Dear Mom and Dad juss wanna say goodbye
I hope you can’t sleep at night and keep wondering why,

It’s your loss for never paying any attention
For always treating me as if I was an extra extension”

You think those are reasons to cry each night
Try living in my shoes for a day, lets see who’ll win the fight.

At least you got your parents with you
Mine are no where to be found
I walked empty streets by myself
Surviving from scraps off the ground

I tried to find a meaning to life
Trying to make it on my own
At least you got a place to go each night
A place to call home

I’ve been shifted from door to door
More times then a damn salesman
But never once got sold
I cover myself each night with a newspaper over my head
While you got sheets of gold.

And still you wanna end it all?
Go ahead kid, don’t let me stop you
Don’t think it’s gonna help any
Doing what you’re gonna do

Hold the gun to your head
I’ll even tell you where’s the best spot to aim
Believe me I’ve been through this episode before
But you always end up losing the game

Hold it straight kid
Look your shaking....go figure
Here I’ll help you out a bit
Hell, I’ll even pull the trigger.

I’ll personally send the note to your folks
Tell them they ain’t lost nothing worth crying about
Just a spoiled lil' girl who never understood how lucky she was
Living with everything I’ve always lived without….a life.
