Downward Death

by Ð맆îñ¥   Mar 16, 2005

Chuckles in the night haunt your sleep
As words edge up, disturbing your keep
Your body lies tired but your mind is awake
You’re sat on your window, one more chance you shall take

The wind whips around you as you fly through the sky
No sound breaks the silence – no shout – no cry
You’re descending to home, so low
Only at the end do you whisper ‘No’

They will find you and draw you close
Your body crumpled even morose
Blood coats your head and your matted hair
Why, did you not think that we care?

Your pristine clothes are outshone
That that should have gone on is gone
Lost in deep waters, tears that you cried
I’d surrender, rejoice, had you not died
