Falling for a friend

Why did you say you loved me,
when you never meant a word,
why did you have to lie to me,
you thought I'd be your'bird',

You only wanted to use me,
you think I'll fall for that,
why do you walk all over me,
just like your old door mat,

We started out as friends,
won't fall for all your lies,
if you do this to me again,
we'll have to say goodbyes,

You say you really mean it,
cos you wanna go out with me,
Maybe if you treat me nice,
we'll have to wait and see,

I have always loved you,
as a friend and more,
but the way you treat me,
now I'm not so sure.
