Giving up

I love her so much, But she does not see
She does not realize, she means everything to me
I love her, but I know I cannot tell
I could not cope with her not wanting to talk as well

I watch from the background as my grandmother dies
Listen in on conversations while my mother crys
See her getting weaker but trying to stay strong
Why does everything always have to go wrong

Watch my mother as she fights off all her pain
Seeing the illness spread through her all over again
Try and keep my head up, wondering if she'll die
Will I ever see her up, happy and high

Closing myself in when I walk into class
Staring through my eyes, glazed over like a pane of glass
Happiness a feeling I can no longer find
Sadness rolls in waves into my broken mind
