Ruminations

by Karl Brondehoff   Mar 17, 2005

What if I did? Would you still love me?
What if I died? Don't be sad, I'm happy now. You can't hurt me anymore. I run free; unfettered.
I'm free from the pain you caused me. I run through the open meadows, I become the forest.
My blood become the sea, My eyes the stars. Would you live on. Or would you join me unhindered by the bodies we hold? Could you become one with the birds? To soar onto the sunset.
I've become the mountains and the raging storms, I bring fear to the young, and excitment to the seafolk. I've become so much, but I can never be as I had wished. To be the only one you loved. Our love was and is so great but can it breach the last barrier of time and betrayal? Can it turn back the clocks? Can it make me return once I'm gone forever?
