With bubble gum and glue
Paper clips and staples
But all I succeeded in doing
Was tear it apart even more

And pudding and candy

With comments, words, and phrases
Gossip and slang and profanity
But all I succeeded in doing

With boys and girls and cars
And money and popularity
But all I succeeded in doing

With knives and matches and razors
And pills and alcohol
But all I succeeded in doing
Was tear it apart even more

But none of my methods worked
All I succeeded in doing
Was to tear it apart even more
