Great poem, Kaitlin! It admittedly sounds like it should be a song because it has a wonderful, rhythmic flow. But the message and how it's delivered is the point of mastery. Subtly emotive... sneaks up on you and makes you smile softly, sadly at the poignancy of the final lines.
