Let Me Be Me

I'm killing myself
Trying to be
What everyone else
Wants me to be
But if they'd stop
And take the time to see
That they're ruining my life
They'd just let me be me.

I've gone so far past confused
I don't know what I want anymore
I've fallen in so deeply
I don't know who I am anymore
What do they want from me?
I can't be perfect - I'm sure
But I'll try hard to be, for them
From the depths of my core.

I now know that
I don't want to be

I told them to stop

And just let me be me.
