This black hole

by JeNaVii   Mar 20, 2005

There is a black hole
She calls it home
Her sun fades
A little more each day
And confusion
Envelopes her mortal being
She hates, hurts, hides
Refusing to admit defeat
Unable to conquer victory
Stuck in the middle
Between tomorrow and yesterday
She reaches out
Beyond the glass
And her ever gentle touch
Shatters the window
To the outside world
Overwhelmed, she cannot breathe
Death is knocking
Grasping for the door knob
To open the only thing
She truly desires
To disappear from sight
To cause no more pain
And feel no more fear
She sees the light
At the end of the long tunnel
She races towards it
Only to find?
A mirage
This black hole
All she knows and believes
Holds her still and out of touch
And her tears
Are the only things that confirms
That she is still alive
