We'd Be Nothing

He sat there in the garden
Deep in thought and prayer
Talkin' to the Father
So intensely, like no one else was there

Then came the Roman soldiers
They were searching with decree
For a messenger of truth
They told the man who they were looking for, and the he said, "I am he"

With these words, the soldiers fell
From the power of the single breath
Of the man, so innocent
He rose them up and walked in arrest

The soldiers took him to the boss
Who ridiculed him, vile
The man said, "You have no power over me"
But sat through his false trial

He let them ridicule and torment
Tell him his words were untrue
He wore a bloody crown of thorns
For he knew what he must do

He took that cross upon his shoulders
And walked up the the hill to his fate
With nobody beside him
He began his suffering, so great

They nailed him to his cross
And there he died in all our sin
So we could go to Heaven
We would go to Hell without him

So I thank that man today
The God, my Savior who sees us
He died for me, died for you
We'd be nothing without that man, named Jesus.
