Her Pain

by Jackie Bilson   Mar 21, 2005

With every tear that she had cried,
The love seemed more real.
With every sob heaved from her chest,
A deeper pain she would feel.
Every hurtful word he said,
Was a dagger through her heart.
Every "I'm sorry" and "It won't work"
Tore her remaining pieces apart.
She tried to block it out,
But she couldn't.
She tried to make him leave,
But he wouldn't.
Because there is no way to ever be free,
If what you are fighting is a memory.
