a child’s ambition,

what if pigs could fly?
would they still be made into bacon?
what if fish could cry?
would they still live in lakes?

a curiosity and questionable life,
unable to tell right from wrong,
playing with a knife,

running it along the furniture,
across the counters,
down the doors,
a game so fun it’s a blur,

they play so hard,
they trip and fall,
blood does trickle,
unable to crawl,

innocence slashed,
the world a mess,
unable to tell the difference,
no second chances...
