An ode to my friend

by Emily Barclay   Mar 22, 2005

She’s like a comfortable pillow,
To catch me when I fall,
She’s like my faithful shadow,
Never to leave my side at all,

She’ll like the seasons of the weather,
Altering each day,
Her mood changes with the wind,
But she’s always around you in a way,

She’s my stepping stones,
Helping me build my life,
She’s just my breath,
When I miss her it cuts like a knife,

She’s an improved mirror,
When I look, I’m staring back,
She makes me want to be better,
Helping to get what I lack,

She’s my inner soul,
I can feel her when she’s not there,
She’s my helping hand,
And the only one who’s bothered to care,

She’s like my sister,
Always there when I cry,
She’s my happy life,
And without her I would die.
