What's Underneath the Smile

by Carmen   Mar 23, 2005

What's truly located inside,
Is only there just to hide.
It hides my sighs,
It hides my cries.
It hides my fears,
It hides my tears.
My body holds inside the pain,
As I struggle to stay sane,
It builds up inside,
I feel as though I've died.
My feelings are buried,
My heart away being carried.
I wish I could show you how I feel,
And break this horrid seal,
To show you what's true,
And my life I will no longer rue.
Maybe I'll show you what's underneath the smile,
And maybe I can be truly happy for just a little while.

Carmen..this is a poetry Comment website..so I will tell you the truth....

It was nice, well written, to the point. Had you added a more consistent syllabal usage..it might have been better. Good job though...
