Skeleton Song

by Lance Hardy   Mar 24, 2005

There is something wrong
When everything feels right
The darkness lies in ambush
Right behind that guiding light

It will all start to come together
But before you see the trap
It will all be unleashed
All the horrors under wrap

Stand as tall as you possibly can
Your moment of triumph is at hand
But prepare for the backlash
For nothing ever can withstand

You can always work back up
But you will fall deeper next time
As your experience gives way
And all you gain is a steeper climb

The strong will keep climbing
Never surrendering to their helplessness
The weak will stay at the bottom
Failing to thrive in their own mess

Even when everything seems hopeless
Push on and defy what would be "right"
You can then die happy saying
"I fought the impossible fight"

Lovve the first two lines, don't knw why...

Some suggestions, finally something constructive for Aken Sol? O.o?

second stanza "It will be all be unleashed
All the horrors you thought were under wrap"
edited version "It will all be unleased
    All the horrors under wrap"

The second all wasn't necc, and i shortesed the last line a bit.

Fifth stanza, second line, did you mean surrendering?

Overall, i think its a good poem, good job Lance.

hmm, was that a response to my poem? The bit about climbing, and fighting... I almost see a connection, and I wonder if you did that intentionally. This poem stands alone with a good message and a good delivery, but connecting with a different poem is a pretty arduous task.
