The Dance with the Devil

by Phoenix   Mar 24, 2005

Do you remember our first dance?
It lasted all night
After that first meeting my life was enhanced

It started out casually
special occassions and parties
I didnt realize I needed you
to start the morning

Soon we met every weekend
and I shared you with friends
Family was no longer important
you were a means to an end

When I became sad
you lent me a smile
When my tears were bursting
you put them off a while

You keep my eyes wide open
but I am now more blind
I have many friends but they leave when your gone

Speed,Meth,Grit
Call it what you will
Its all the same shit
thats leading you downhill.
