In Death I Shall Be Noticed

by Hollowandalone69   Mar 24, 2005

I take my life during this cold night
Not much to say, but plenty to write
You find the note before you find me
Then close your eyes for you don\'t want to see
The truth is lying right in front of you
Everything you tried to ignore and tried to see through
Your only real daughter who you chose to cast aside
Never thinking twice about the tears you caused me to cry
Now i am gone, never to return
And you mutter to yourself, "I thought you had learned"
I'm sorry Dad, but how could i know
You showed me time and again that you wanted me to go
So i seized the moment and purchased a knife
And, i walked slowly home, savoring the last moments of my life
Please hold my hand, even though it's quite cold
And look in my eyes, so many stories still need to be told
Can you now see my shattered heart
And remember all the times you tore it apart
Pretend for a moment that you understood my pain
That you never looked down on me or called me insane
Can you now see why i chose the life i lived
Only letting go after i gave all i had to give
Do you understand that you took away all i ever had
Then demanded to know why the hell i was so sad
But i guess none of that matters anymore
Because i now have eternally shut that door
So go ahead, and cry, and pretend you cared
But inside you're shaking, you're so frickin scared
Soon you'll move on, your hurt will decease
And all that will be left of me is painful memories
