The Proposal

by Lisa D Larson   Mar 24, 2005

As he raises his glass up to toast
He gazes at the one he loves the most
He said for her he'd try his best
That they would pass Love's test
He spoke of their triumphs and trials
And he said ahead lies many more miles
He spoke of all the love in his heart
And for them life was just about to start
As he slowly bent down to one knee
He said with her is where he wants to be
With her he wants to share all his life
He asks, Will you honor me and be my wife?
No words would come she could not speak
A single tear slowly runs down her cheek
She said yes with a smile on her full pink lips
And on her finger a diamond ring he slips
Around them they hear applause and laughter
For them life will be happy ever after
