Your friendship meant shit

~I wrote this poem about one of my old best friends. It may not be the greatest, but it really helped me express my feelings. Please vote on it and leave any comments.~

We had just met
we were both new
I knew only a few others
it was the same story for you
we both found pleasure in talking with the other
I thought you were the only one that understood me
We talked about everything
We laughed together
We were always together
even though our backgrounds were different
our skin colors opposite
neither one of us judged the other
we got past color, stereotypes and we became really tight
I loved being with you cause you made me smile
I thought you were the greatest thing in my life at the time
until I realized that no one else felt that same way about you
Everyone talked shit about you behind your back and I was the only one stupid enough not to believe that what they said was true
I started moving further away from you
I started hanging out with others,
people you didn't really involve yourself with
you got the hint and you left me alone
I guess you were more serious about our friendship then I was at the time.
I wanted to give you more but I realized too much about you and it was just too late.
I left you alone
to fend for yourself
I didnt seem to care one little bit
but now that I look back it doesn't really matter because I now realize that your friendship meant shit.

~Because of certain people, I just want to say that if you know who this poem is about, or if you thnk you know it doesn't really matter. I didnt write this ppoem to be mean or hurt any ones feelings. I was mad and pretty upset when I wrote it. Im not saying that its not true, just that you shouldn't take it so personaly or seriously because you don't even know what really happened.~
