Reality Check

You walked in and blew my mind
You looked at me and i knew you were one of a kind
You must have read my mind because you flashed me your intoxicating smile
I knew rite then and there i had to make you mine if only for awhile

But wow, reality check, you weren't smilin' at me
You were smilin' at her, my best friend
I should have know you were too wonderful to see me
But why her, this jealousy needs to end

I finally worked up the courage to talk to you, but it was too late
You had been won over by her, the girl i love and hate
I don't understand, you have never even talked to her
But i guess love at first sight is something you can't cure

I talked to you and it went well
I like you SO much but i won't tell
You like her, she likes you, and its all so unfair
You say I'm cool a great friend, which is a nice way to say you really don't care

I try so hard to be funny and cute
I try so hard to get your attention
But you never seem to notice
You only giver her your affection

Its OK I understand
She's gorgeous, athletic, funny, and nice
And i guess thats just how fate rolled the dice
Shes lucky to get you and you're lucky to get her
And someday I'll find someone else who makes my emotions stir
