Love-what does it mean?

Love what does it mean?
Is it something we say but don't mean.
Is it something you say to get your way.
And when you don't it's taken away.
Is it something you say when your put on the spot.
And when confronted you find out your not.
Did we pull it out of thin air.
Never to mean it, never to care.
Love-does it really exist?
Or is it something we made up for the hell of it?

I wrote this a long time ago when I thought love was never meant for me.
