Abusive dad

by lorna westwick   Mar 25, 2005

Please don't hit mom
i beg you not to
hit me instead
i wouldn't be able to live if mom was dead
avert your eyes don't look at me
your love was just lies
more lies came out
every word you spoke
i don't have a doubt
everyday you would beat her more and more
yet she would be the one crawling back and knocking on the door
with a heavy heart
she lay in bed
crying her eyes out
wishing she was dead
but she knew she couldn't die she had two daughters
who had to live their lives
the eldest one who had seen all
people who get abused and made to feel small
if you looked in her eyes they would tell a story
say she has seen a lot
these bright blue eyes of hers
will carry on burning
even with the horrid memories they learn to stay bright and carry on burning
but how much more can she take?
