my angel came
and led me astray
She said 'Alright girl

one more push
one more and that's it."
So one more I did
And out you came
at 11:56am
On that Tuesday morning
You cried and cried
and so did I too
You were absolutely beautiful
and perfect too
Ten little fingers
and ten little toes
Which toe is the funny one
that you like to show?
I thanked my angel
for being there with me
It was Nannie's Boy
who helped you and me
Your aunt Pam came later
crawled on the bed with me
She looked at me and said
'How's my nephew Vinnie?'
I wasn't quite sure
Just what to do
Because you are named after your father
and your grandfather too
Aunt Pam though
knew just what to do
When she said Vinnie to me
It just stuck with me, can't you see?
There is someone else
You needed to meet
He drove from Halifax/Dartmouth
He was there in a heartbeat
A friend stopped by
to wish us both well
So Nannie's boy left
and went down the hall
A few seconds later
My friend, you & I heard "YES"
It was Poppy Buddy
But of course it was, didn't you guess?
You started at 2am
and arrived at almost noon
There was a solar eclipse that day
Another boy and two girls born that afternoon
What a day it was
on that May in '94
You, Vinnie, my darling son
are a precious gift from God and heaven above.
