Hiding Her Scars

by mookoo   Mar 25, 2005

Someone lays in the lonesome dark,
trying weakly to heal their scathed body,
cleaning their wounds as best they can,
barely able to open her eyes to see,

an animal left alone in the dark,
long thick fur hiding her scars,
hiding its malnourishment,
only able to look through the bars,

never seeing the love of a friendly hand,
never petted or brushed,
their fur always a tangled mess,
never making a sound, always hushed

a puppy sent through the worst life,
laying there with fear in her eyes,
hoping dearly you’ll be nice,
a special surprise...
