Alone

I’m lonely when your not around
I’m lonely when your in town
I’m lonely on those rainy nights
Then I see a light
A light that shines so bright
I think the light is you
But realize half way through,
You just made me sad and blue
You never realized I was there
You never even cared
You cheated and you lied
You almost made me cry
But look, my eyes are completely dry
I was too stupid to see
That you were playin’ me!
Well that was then
I am no longer ten
I won’t come back when you snap
I won’t listen when you do that
What is wrong with you?
Can’t you see that I’m through?
I tell you that I’m leaving
Now you yelling and screaming
Trying to tell me I can’t go
But from now on, I’m running my own show
I start to walk out the door
You grab and push me to the floor
Now your screaming even more
I get up and try to run
Then you get your gun
You say, “I’ll shoot if you don’t come back!”
I stop dead in my tracks,
Turn around,
As you start to pound!
You hit my face
As my mind goes blank
I see you grab a knife
I know your taking my life
You cut my arm
Again, you’ve caused me harm
You stab my leg
“Stop!” I beg
You slice my tummy
That was not funny
“I was pregnant!” I cried, “With our baby!”
You sighed, “You were my lady!”
I laid there for a while
Thinking, we never had a smile
I started to shed a tear
As you had another beer
All you could say was “Want one?”
I yelled, “You just killed our son!”
You smashed the bottle
And I was what you throttled
All I could see was black
You threw me on my back
What did I do wrong?
Was I not strong?
You got carried away this time
Did I commit the crime?
I picked up the knife
You thought I was going to take your life
I took my own
Now you are left alone!
