Looking Glass

by Molly   Mar 25, 2005

You can find her by her trail of tears
Shes been alone now for all of 16 years
Most of her laughter she conceals
Wearing long sleeve shirts until her wounds do heal
She cant describe what went wrong
takes all her pain and anger out on one simple song
Her laughter, no one hears the sound
She only cries when no ones around
She sits there alone and afraid
Full of remorse for all the mistakes shes made
Her deep red mistake flows down her arm
She wishes she was safe away from self harm
A padded room an inescapable device
Yearning for control or professional advice
The scares she hides and the pain deep within her heart
Makes her tear drops fall and the anger start
No words can describe the pain she endures
Her wrists they gleam, her tear less eyes are sore
Shes sighs, tottering on her wits end
Reaching for the hand of her only friend

I die inside when i look in the mirror
Shes screaming now but i cant hear her
On the glass she pounds her hand against mine
Lost in a zone, sifting through time

She and I are one and the same
Killing ourselves for 20 seconds of fame
Our lungs labor and our heart beat slows down
The knife in our fists falls to the ground

We're off to save each other in this world that we know
Holding hands through the looking glass we slowly let go.....
