The Cutters Prayer

by Molly   Mar 26, 2005

Now i lay me down to dream
I pray to you that i hear no screams
That the devil shall not rise
I shall not sleep in a bed full of lies

Lord save me from these demons
Cure these lungs that are always screaming
The truth shall rise and set me free
Free to vanquish the evil inside of me

God in Heaven hear my plead
No more do i wish to bleed
Save me from myself
Help me put these memories on the shelf

I pray to you on my knees
Please make the hurt leave
From the bottom of a torn heart
A new life I'm willing to start
Amen

Wow, very powerful piece. Using old English really made it fantastic. Rhyming wasn't forced, it flowed really well, made me want to cry.
