Unthinkable

by Emma Carnage   Mar 26, 2005

I’ve thought about
The unthinkable
Last night
I pictured it

As I laid
On the ground
Motionless
For half an hour

I closed my eyes
And there I was
In the same spot
Same position
Same night

It looked beautiful
Seeing my black hair
Fallen in disarray
My skin so pale
Eyes so green
Surrounded
In a crimson pool

I saw myself
Lift my hand
And watched
As the blood
Dripped from my fingertips
Creating perfect circles

My crimson tears
Were soon joined
By pure ones
They burned down my cheeks
And pooled around me

I saw myself
Look down to my arms
Covered in blood
And I watched
As a smile
Crossed my pale lips

Then I watched
As I laid back down
Into my crimson pool
As I rested my head down
For the last time
And laid motionless
Forever
I opened my eyes
And wept
From what I just saw
From what I just thought
