A Good Day Still!

by Becky drake   Mar 26, 2005

As the day starts, it seems like things are OK,
Its just the same as any other ordinary day.
But the dishwasher breaks, and the floor gets a spill,
you just laugh and think, I'm having a good day still.

The phone rings, and someone wants a Donation!,
the baby cries, and hubby's reading a quotation.
He doesn't seem to notice that the roast is starting to burn,
and even though he said he'd help,
he forgot it was His turn.

Your head is splitting, and that T.V. is so LOUD,
the mail is piling up, and you weren't expecting this crowd,
but two friends, your sister, and your aunt have just stopped in,
Now theres even a bigger mess, and you wonder when does it end.

The dryer beeps, and the bathtub overflows,
before you know its 9:00 and you missed your favorite shows.
You'd really like to sit down and cry,
and scream to someone, You want to know WHY!

Then all of a sudden things just settle down,
your world stops spinning, and your feet hit the ground.
The baby falls asleep, and Hubby puts him in bed,
The floors are all clean, and the dogs are all fed.
Things are OK again, and you know how you feel?
After all is said and done,
You Had A Good Day Still...........

Wow, you really are an upbeat person, aren't you? Your optimism is infectious.

Thanks again for your comment on my poem. I have many online, most aren't worth your time to be honest, but if there is one that is, it is probably my one called "Raft of problems"...from what you said on my other poem, I think you could relate to it.

And as a bonus, it's short! Thanks again.
