The Reality Of It All

by Dani W   Mar 27, 2005

We come to a place where everything is new
The grass is so green and the sky is so blue
We are surrounded by love ones we call family
Thinking life is really that easily
Until you hit your teens
When you realize nothing is what it seems
Problems build up school is override
Social life expands, secrets we hide
Opinions written down, Thoughts buried away
We dread to face tomorrow, the new day
Then adulthood comes in to play
We have minimum freedom but the chance to give a say
Responsibility is high, choices come along
Thinking over in your head, hope not to choose wrong
Relationships become serious, your future is lying in your hands
Abiding by all the rules, following there demands
Families you'll protect, you give all you can to yours
Try to be a good influence, Don't break any laws
Then wrinkles and age slows you down
Living it out with smiles instead of frowns
Until you watch what you created grow
You begin to forget in the mind but in the heart you'll know
That if you stuff up you may fall
But just keep rebuilding its the reality of it all.
