Lovers are blind Love is not...(a Love story)

Everyday the sunshine was so bright,
And so was the moonlight,
Life never seemed so kind to her,
She married her military man,
A man - who truly loved her.

But then came the real test of time,
A test that would tell her if her love is so sublime,
She lost her eyesight,
Thanks to the crackers burning so hot and bright.
And knew not if her husband would have pity on her plight,

For months together they worked as a team,
A team so determined to fight with the vigor of a teen,
He told her to be strong and that he loved her,
And no matter how much it takes,
He would always be there for her.

He would cook and clean,
And would never leave any doctors name unseen,
She prayed that everyone was as lucky as her,
But no one so hopeless like her,
To have no chance to show all the love that’s within her.

The hell broke loose the day he said “Enough of this pity,
you must find a way to go by bus for your work and do your duty”,
She felt all the love sublime in the thin air,
The air that she couldn’t feel in her lungs,
For her life now seemed so void just like her empty stare,

She traveled everyday by the bus fearing the multiplicity of her emotional pains,
Waiting for death to find her before the love from her life entirely drains,
She thought how could he forget all the promises that he made,
“I take you as my wife In health and In Sickness…”,
and how could the colour of her love be so dull that so early it would begin to fade.

But then one fine day as the driver told her,
“Ma’am I envy u for I see a military man sticking to u like an animal to its fur,
Everyday he walks behind you waiting along with u for your bus,
and guards you and salutes you,
as you enter your office without making a fuss”.

She knew not what to say,
She tried to turn around and trace her path,
As her empty view was blocked by the tears so hot,
She left saying to herself that “Lovers are blind but Love is not….”
