Forgotten Daughter

by kid   Mar 27, 2005

Mind Blank
Puddle Full

She bangs on the wall
Many names she calls
No one can hear her

They both stare
Sit there, and act like they don't care
Watch the girl
Lost in another world

The parents of a mentally challenged
It's hard to watch, hard to stand
Hard to even hold her hand

They back away
They think of what the doctor will say
About the daughter's condition
Is she is able to come home
Or stuck in a hospital

The questions they ask
The doctore gives truth
That there is no hope for their daughter, Ruth

She will never overcome her illness
It's lifelong
There is nothing they can do

The mother's face in hands
The father staying strong
But stern, but yet a tear
Escapes
Now he's in bad shape
Crying uncontolled

They say their final goodbyes
To Ruth, through their teay eyes
And leave to never return
Forget they had daughter
And move on
