My strawberry hair was all that I had It hung below my shoulders It's gone now and I'm sad Though curling would take boulders My mommy says it won't grow back The doctors say so too In my heart there is a crack That can't be fixed by glue It's called something I can't say Mommy doesn't say it anymore She says to live for every day And run through every door The other side of everything Always seems so scary But if you have a song to sing And memories to carry Then all you need is love With love, you will pull through And realize it's not hair you'll miss But they'll be missing you Now don't you worry about me Because I'll be just fine Knowing that they love me It helps me every time They promise they'll remember And tell me not to cry Before my next September I'll be on the other side
