Not A Good-bye

by Amy Woodfine   Mar 28, 2005

As we say good-bye,
I promise I'll try not to cry.
You leave us to go away.
Never forever, just please not today
You've become part of our family.

I promise not to cry
When you go for a long fly
It may seem like a long time, yes.
But in 6 months time you'll be back making a mess.
We are thankful for everything you have done
You gotta admit we had our fun.

I promise not to cry
As for now, this is not a good-bye!

This poem was to my brother-in-law when he said he was moving out West. We weren't allowed to give him anything before he left so I wrote him this poem b/c he was like the best friend I never had...
