Slipping Away

by Emma Carnage   Mar 28, 2005

You’re slipping away
But this time it’s different
It’s not like before
When it was your love that left
It’s worse this time
I don’t care about love
But I’m losing you still
This time though
It’s your friendship that’s gone

You’re slipping away
You’ve barely spoke to me
For three days now
You’ve barely said a word
You’re only here
When you think I’ll cut
But what you don’t know
Is you get here too late
I only reach out
After it’s done
After I realized
That you’re leaving me behind

You’re slipping away
I’m a part of your past
I’m barely here
And soon enough
I’ll be only a memory
Just another friend
Who just slipped away
And I’ll never be back
And you’ll never know
If I’m doing all right

You’re slipping away
I can’t hold on
You’ve made your choice
It feels to me
Like our friendship is done
Perhaps I’m mistaken
Please tell me I’m wrong
But it feels to me
Like you’re already gone
