Drive-away Car

by Alexandra C   Mar 29, 2005

We ran out to the old car
and jumped in
we want to drive
somewhere we've never been

Nothing before us
but an old quiet road
we have no idea
just how far we'll go

Perfect memories
discussing love and lust
the wind blowing through our hair
like our childhood sweeping past us

We're driving away
to escape the pressures
and hold onto friendship
which is our greatest treasure

We'll openly admit we
go a little crazy sometimes
but not following our hearts
would be our greatest crime

Don't get angry at us
you know it's true
you know, this is something
you've always wanted to do

We started the engine
and heard the call
just to be two friends
getting away from it all
