No Ordinary Day

by LuAnnLy18   Mar 29, 2005

A haunting September morning,
Began in tranquility, ended in terror.
My stomach twisted that shadowy September day
As I say with my classmates, whispering around the TV.
Stunnified as American life screeched to a halt,
As our wealth and power crumbled to the ground.
Fiery images whizzed across the screen,
Like a screaming steam engine.
Confusion, panic, worry, fear,
That brisk September afternoon.
Forgotten appointments went unnoticed
As families stared mournfully at the aftermath.
In the chilly September evening, a nation was called to action.
Bang!-an army of millions, all different, yet the same.
United we stood as the sun set that September night.
