Un Anneau De Diamant

by Cortney Adame   Mar 29, 2005

This ring--
When I see it
A funny thing happens
I think of you.
You two are just the same
You are both beautiful
You are both beaten
You are both precious to me.
Hard times are evident on you
Scratches, nicks, and scars
They adorn your exterior
They tell your story.
You were both missing something--
A diamond--
Love--
But now You have me to fix you.
I will cherish you both
Replace what was lost
Heal your battered skin and soul
And keep you always near my heart.
A simple piece of string
It may seem insignificant
But--
It ties us all together.
For now it keeps this ring for me
Forever close to my heart
Soon it will join our hands in ritual
And forevermore join our hearts.
